I don't know what the heck they mean by only co-op special zones. But from what the devs have said so far on their Discord channel, it doesn't sound too promising. I think it would be silly if you can't play the entire story campaign in co-op for this kind of game. This is about co-op in early access so it might evolve with new features after official release.
